RICS order writebacks

Up until today, you had to enter every online order manually into RICS. This takes a ton of time and becomes a bigger pain the more orders you receive in a day, but not anymore!

Additional New RICS Optionality:

  • Choice of a default sale location - all sales that we write into RICS, must go to a single default sale location.
  • Choice of a default inventory location - If you want, you can have a separate default inventory location for web orders to utilize. This can be different than your sale location.
  • Choice of a default cashier account to use for web sales - this can use whichever sales person ID that you desire when ringing up web sale orders.

*Please note that all of the above options are currently not configurable through Fitted directly, but we can help facilitate these account changes for you via RICS support.

Tips for Successfully Enabling the RICS Orders Integration:

  • If you are utilizing e-gift cards or in-store gift cards with Fitted, we would recommend that you create a SKU and unique UPC in RICS for either one or both of these gift card products on Fitted before having us turn on the integration. This will ensure that orders won’t fail when they include a gift card for purchase.
  • If there are brands that you sell on Fitted that aren’t in RICS for some reason, or that you don’t have manufacturer UPCs for in RICS, you’ll want to make sure these UPCs get updated. If there is a single UPC on an order, or line-item of that order that doesn’t match in RICS, the order will fail to process.
  • For retailers with multiple locations, one interesting idea is to create a location in RICS that holds no inventory and use that as the default sale/inventory location for your web orders. Then, as orders come in throughout the day you could balance this location with transfers from your primary inventory/store locations in RICS. Just a thought!
