How do E-gift cards work with RICS+Lightspeed?

Summary:
  • When enabled, a "fetch" process will run and pull in all gift cards from RICS or Lightspeed, and build those codes into Fitted.
  • If any new gift cards are purchased in-store, or redeemed in-store, this process will keep the cards and balances in sync throughout the day.
  • Similarly, if a new e-gift card is purchased online, or an existing code is redeemed online, we will instantly update this balance in both Fitted and in your POS.
  • In RICS, when we create or update a stored value card this will not necessarily ring up a sale related to a customer, it will just create a universally available stored credit code with a balance. If the balance is updated on Fitted, or in-store, an adjustment will be made to the stored value card.
  • For Lightspeed, an actual sale will be recorded in Lightspeed and a new credit account will be loaded with the proper balance. This will not be tied to a customer as of now though.

Balance Check
Being introduced alongside the new customer shopping accounts and dashboard, is a place to let customers check their balance on a gift card. They will be able to do this from the cart page if they don't have an account on the store, or also from within their new dashboard if they've made an account.

New Customer Account Creation
If a customer creates an account on your store, we immediately check to see if we can match that customer record using their email. This works similarly to how we match customer records today for online orders, but we've introduced this match into the registration process to allow for a customer to check their offline order history in the dashboard as soon as they sign up.
Customers Can View In-store Orders
A big ask from our retailers was to and marry together order data between their POS system and Fitted. This is the first step in letting your customers view their past in-store purchase history when shopping in your online store! As of today, if a customer creates an online account (this is required), we will pull back their CustomerID from RICS or Lightspeed, and they will be given a new tab on their dashboard to check the last 3 orders from their account!
